Model ASEAN Meeting East Asia Summit 2025 (AFMAM EAS 2025)

The ASEAN Foundation Model ASEAN Meeting East Asia Summit 2025 (AFMAM EAS 2025) is taking place from 15-19 September 2025 at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia which is organised by the ASEAN Foundation in collaboration with the Missions of Australia,China, and Japan to ASEAN, and this prestigious event commemorates the 20th  anniversary of the East Asia Summit.

AFMAM EAS 2025 is a fully immersive youth diplomacy simulation that will bring together 60 selected students aged 18-26 from ASEAN Member States, Timor-Leste, and Dialogue Partner countries including Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Russia, and the United States.Participants will take on the roles of senior ASEAN and Dialogue Partner officials to simulate high-level regional meetings and collaboratively draft a youth-led Outcome Document. The programme will include pre-conference online training, in-conference workshops on diplomatic processes, and thematic simulations on Offshore Renewable Energy, Disaster Management, and Marine Debris & Pollution. The Age criteria for the application is between 18-26 years.

This is a valuable opportunity for students interested in Diplomacy, foreign policy, regional governance, and international law to gain first-hand experience in ASEAN processes, strengthen their leadership skills and contribute to shaping ASEAN’s shared future.  Successful applicants will be fully supported by the programme, including round-trip travel from the nearest major city in your home country to Jakarta, Indonesia, as well as accommodation, local transportation, and meals during AFMAM EAS 2025.
